BIO: Randal J. Scales also known as OBYSS "Oh-Biss"
Born October 16, 1954 during Hurricane Hazel in Rome,
New York.
Single father of three.
One girl...Casandra age 24.
Twin boys...Shane age 20 and
Bradley, deceased
and one Granddaughter, Kaylee Mae Scales born 4/11/06.
He resides in Vienna, NY
He is a Federal Police Officer working at the Rome Lab in Rome, NY.
A Vietnam era Veteran of the United States Air Force, Scales is a singer/songwriter/guitarist who has been writing
words and music since age 13 and until recently has
had no desire to make them public.
He very rarely plays outside of home or studio.
He writes Adult Contemporary music, mostly ballads and
songs that people can relate to in their own lives.
In 2005 he added Christian music to his repertoire and most recently, Country.
He writes and sings from the heart which he feels is a rarity on
the airwaves today.
His favorite Songwriters/Singers include: Phil Collins, John
Lennon, Lionel Richie and Elton John among others.
In December 2004 for the first time he decided to enter
songwriting competitions. He entered the Song of the Year
songwriting contest who sponsors "VH1 Save the Music" which accepts
entries world-wide. The song he entered is entitled "I Still Miss Her" ©2004
and it achieved the Award of Finalist in the Adult Contemporary song category.
